UPCOMING EVENT
The Buddha’s tooth relic housed in the Jade Buddha Shrine, and is one of the three tooth relics in the world. This year, in commemoration of the Buddha’s Birthday, the Public Veneration of the Buddha’s Tooth Relic event will be held from 3rd May to 16th May.

* My Fo Guang Big Buddha *
The Fo Guang Big Buddha has become a landmark of the Museum, and many followers wish to bring home an exact replica of the image so that they could also be in the Buddha’s presence at home. The Buddha statue inspires continual support for Buddhism in the family, as well as in the society. If you like the Big Buddha statue, you can now bring a smaller version home for enshrinement. WORDS OF THE FOUNDER

Buddha’s Birthday is also called Bathing the Buddha’s Day. However, does the Buddha need us to bath him? In fact, this is an opportunity to purify our mind and body through bathing the Buddha, which means that one who bathes the Buddha will benefit physically and mentally.

How did the Buddha became enlightened? He became enlightened through self-contemplation. The practice of bathing the Buddha serves the same purpose: to realize the importance of compassion, patience, harmony, and service to the country.

A Visitor-Friendly Approach - Buddha Museum Website in 7 Languages

The Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum was officially opened in 2011. Since then, it has been visited by more than 12 millions visitors from about 100 countries. Owing to the rapid growth of international tourists, it became important for the museum to provide basic translation services in different languages for foreign visitors. The International Affairs Team, in collaboration with international volunteers from the USA, Brazil, Vietnam, Korea, Japan, Germany and Indonesia, started to compile information, and translate them into different languages.
